The Aston Martin brand isn't one normally associated with accessibility. Instead it is usually a club to which only the wealthy and privileged are privy to, but the DB7 is different; it is an entry-level Aston Martin. The most popular Aston ever, it can be bought for the same price as a Ford Mondeo, yet loses none of the brand's iconic style or performance. For a grand tourer space is tight (the second row of seats is more decorative than functional), and the low roof line makes for a ride which is likely to be cramped for anyone deemed even slightly tall. But Aston Martins aren't known for their practicality, they're known for their impressive performance. Engine options are either a relatively conservative 3.2 litre, or a burly 6.0 litre V12 (the Vantage), which delivers serious power and gives it a top speed of 185mph - the bigger engine does come with an equally big price tag however. Its looks are as sleek and elegant as any of its more prestigious siblings, but with a price well within many's reach, it is an affordable Aston Martin, but no less of an excellent one.
