We bought the Volvo to replace our much-loved Alfa. It had to drive well, be comfortable on long journeys, and have room for two cases and a folding wheelchair. The car has exceeded all expectations and has taken us in great style through Germany and down to Italy, across Ireland, and to many parts of England. It's the higher spec version and so the engine provides the power necessary to mix with the crowd on the German autobahns, and the cabin offers superb comfort on long distance European journeys, for both front and rear seat passengers. Having checked out a number of different makes when we finally decided to buy our new car, none came up to the overall standard of the Volvo. The icing on the cake is that the Volvo dealership has proved to be a good, caring example of the car sales world. They made us welcome from the very beginning, and have kept in touch to ensure that the car is providing high quality motoring.
Volvo V60. Not as flash as a BMW or Audi, that is the reason I bought it. Looks pretty sharp for an estate car and is comfortable. I don't really need massive estate room so the fact that style compromises space is fine by me.
Returns 50MPG which I think is pretty good and goes as fast as I need it to. Cruise control is great and seat/front space comfort is good. I have done just under 25000 in the first year and I am very pleased I bought it
Absolutely love my V60, comfortable - even with the sports suspension. I have plenty of power whenever I need it, and thats with a eco engine. More than enough room in the back for our annual holiday with the kids. Not as economical as suggested, but then yet to find a car that matches the manufacturers claims, but at 47mpg average over 30,000 miles I'm happy considering its size and weight.
Doesn't give the mpg they suggest, but then again which car does? However overall 48mpg from a 1600 engine pulling a heavy car like the V60 is still very good. Plenty of gizmos to keep the techy like me happy, enough pull/poke when you need it and comfortable too. Overall I think its a well rounded car, looks good, performs well and isn't a box like so many cars.
even though my last car was an XK8 4.0 petrol which I could afford abroad but sadly no longer. Driving on back roads in Scotland may not get as many glances but economy of more than double has its compensations. Some complain about the smallness of the boot but if you want a house mover try the V70.
Comfortable, economical and well built, not quite as good to drive as my last car a BMW 3 series
