The Mitsubishi Delica is a very fun and quite unique form of transport. It is a people carrier with 7 (or some have 8) seats. The seats fold down to make beds or fold up to make it a van type vehicle. Most of the seats have arms, so, very comfortable. They come packed with gadgets like electric curtains, electric sun roof in the front, electric roof window blinds and electric windows and adjustable/clam mirrors. On top of all that, it is a very capable 4x4 with 2 wheel drive, 4 wheel drive hi, 4 wheel drive low and 4 wheel drive diff lock. A really fun vehicle with several different types from Jasper to royale, long and short wheel bases. They are imports, but they are standard right hand drive. But the L400 is getting on a bit now, mine is 20 next year. So it does need a lot of maintenance and parts do need replacing. It is also a little thirsty on diesel due to it's size and age. It has a few common problems, but at 20 years old, you have to accept and expect that. Parts are easy to come by though. Nice and easy to customize to make it your own.
Hello. I have now owned my Delica eight years. A cheap purchase tatty example at a recorded 98000 miles. Other than playing catch-up on general maintenance, nothing unusual to report. Now 158000 on the clock and still purring like a kitten. I usually swap vehicles around regularly ..but this Machine is truly amazing. Takes the extreemes of four Seasons in its stride, happy local or long distance. Treated with respect, is undemanding and routinely returns 26-30 mpg. I hope to see 300,000 plus with this one.
Love the Delica. Pros: Loads of space Great driving position Excellent 4x4 capability Excellent comfort Looks Cons: Thirsty Not quick for the size of engine. But quick enough and plenty of grunt
