First time mini owner and thoroughly enjoying the experience. Bought the car nearly new and have used the additional TLC XL package for servicing. Power:weight ratio means this is has reasonable acceleration, although sluggish compared to petrol versions and has the clatter of a diesel engine. Ground clearance is particularly low so beware of very uneven surfaces and especially road humps etc as these will give you a scraping sound and the fear of ripping of the front trim. On the plus side economical to run, and has so far been reliable. Of course the car is small, so comfort is compromised especially when carrying rear seat passengers (whose ride can be a bit nausea inducing), but have done a few car boot sales and astonised people with what you can actually fit in when the back seats are folded down. With the seats up boot space is tight for the shopping, so often have to fold the seats down for this. All in all a great, fun car to have and has been a pleasure to own. Considering a Countryman for the more rural environment and reduce the risk of grounding or front end damage!
Great all round car with good performance but low running costs. I would be upset to lose this car so would probably replace with a newer model of the same (first time ever to have done this in 25 years of driving) Just sad that people make assumptions about the type of person you are when you drive a Mini, e.g.assume you want to drive fast and have often been messed about on the road....did not happen with last car so can only assume it is what I am driving. Small boot but back seats fold down so quickly and easily that no problem when doing a big food shop!
A mini wasn't what I had in mind when I was looking to purchase a car but after going in a friends I was sold and I am thrilled to bits with mine more room than you think love the big dials runs well although there is a problem with the passenger window not dropping the garage have said they will put that right
ECONOMIC ATTRACTIVE RELIABLE CAR ALTHOUGH RUN FLAT TYRES ARE EXPENSIVE BUT CONVENIENT.
