This is my second Multipla, having previously owned an original 'Ugly Bug' for 11 years and 162,000 miles. I can honestly say I have never for one moment regretted choosing a Multipla; it is a consummate all-round family car, having ferried the kids and their friends - who loved its quirkiness - taken many, many loads to the tip and hauled a large folding camper, 4 mountain bikes, 2 adults and two teenagers all over Europe, still averaging 38 mpg (45mpg without the trailer). This was actual, measured consumption - ignore the computer! The width has never been a problem, it has plenty of oomph for overtaking, handles well and has a tardis-like interior. Apart from repairs which were not unreasonable given the cars' age and mileage (clutch, brakes, suspension bushes, etc), the old Multipla was very reliable and never let us down. Sadly, it became too long in the tooth to justify the cost of getting it through the next MOT, and so it was replaced earlier this year with a 2010 'Nose Job' model. Experience so far is equally good, although the glow plug dash light is warning that one or more plugs need replacement (74,000 miles). It has all the advantages of the previous car, and is slightly more upmarket (17" Alloys, leather seats), but I do miss the character of my old Ugly Bug!

I needed a MPV which was cheap to buy. My price range would only extend to a Renault Scenic, Citroen Picasso or a Multipla. I chose the Fiat because it had 6 full seat with boot space. The other hav 4 1/2 or 4+3. I've owned it for a year and it's been a great car. It handle better than any other MPV and is very comfortable with better a fuel economy better than I expected. The downsides are the usual Italian electrics and in the year I've had it I've replace two shocks and anti-roll bar drop links and bushes. It also goes through tyres which is something I've experienced from other Fiats too. The road tax is high at £210 also. If someone is looking for a cheap MPV I would recomend it.

Really comfortable fantastic visibility like a tardis relatively short vehicle (making parking easy) but remarkably spacious interior and excellent legroom even in the back. Pity they have stopped making them in EUROPE {Although the Chinese have the licence to continue building them over there at a much lower cost)and the only thing similar - 3 seats front and 3 in the back configuration - is a Honda FRV which has also been discontinued? Great second hand buy if you can find a low mileage version.

I find the Multipla easy to drive. The higher driving position makes for better vision and easy access, even for older people.
It is very comfortable.
My one regret is that it is no longer in production
