Volkswagen dealerships have today received the company’s first SUV for distribution across the UK.
The Tiguan comes with one of two engines – a 1.4-litre TSI 150 PS or the more powerful 2.0-litre diesel variant.
In addition, the vehicle has a large amount of interior space, offering drivers and passengers a high level of comfort when travelling.
Volkswagen states that it expects to sell close to 10,500 Tiguans in the UK during 2008, with prices starting at £19,370 for the TSI manual model with a 1.4-litre engine.
It adds that its customisable music system brings a touch of class to the model.
"Volkswagen’s new RNS 510 touchscreen satellite navigation and audio system … incorporates a hard drive to record not only the owner’s favourite tracks and navigation mapping, but also waypoints and routes off-road where digital mapping does not exist," said the firm.
The Tiguan was originally announced at the Los Angeles International Auto Show in November 2006.
