Toyota announces new electric car, at a shocking price!

Toyota has announced that their new Prius Plug-In hybrid will cost an eye-watering £27,895. Indeed, the Toyota offering would be a staggering £32,895 without the £5,000 grant offered by the Government to fuel green driving.

Toyota Prius

The Prius Plug-In is, as the name would suggest, a hybrid car which allows owners to plug it in overnight and top up the battery. However, when battery power does get low, drivers won’t be left on the hard shoulder: the Prius Plug-In’s 1.8-litre petrol engine kicks in to re-charge its levels. Car Magazine reports that the Prius Plug-In will reach as much as 60mph in electric mode while standard equipment includes a head-up display, DAB digital radio, Toyota Touch and Go Plus (which offers real-time traffic coverage, customisable speed limits and speed camera warnings), voice recognition, Bluetooth, reversing camera and LED headlamps. Nice features, not so nice price.
