A rally-driving twosome made their Suzuki Sport proud this weekend after finishing a tough test on the Isle of Man.
Lorna Smith and Joanne Oakey delivered an "almost faultless" performance, according to the manufacturer, finishing first in the British Rally Championship Ladies Cup and also taking the top prize in the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship Class N2.
Although developed for race purposes, the car used by the duo still has much more potential for development, team manager Ian Robinson said.
"I’m delighted for Lorna and Joanne and the entire team with this success," he remarked.
The Suzuki Swift Sport was first introduced to Europe in September 2006 and reviewed by motoring critic Jeremy Clarkson shortly afterwards.
He said it "looks fantastic" and has practicality as well as a spacious interior – going on to call it a "great little car" and making a number of comparisons between it and the Mini Cooper.
