People buying Seat vehicles in the near future may be able to benefit from the new advanced satellite navigation system (sat nav) it is to include in its models.
The DVD-based device, available for £1,595 – no more expensive than the CD system previously available – has a 30 gb hard drive.
It features a 6.5 inch colour screen used to store mapping information, while also allowing passengers to playback DVD video as well as the bulk of major music files.
Gary Wells, head of aftersales at the firm, commented that a number of "clear advantages" exist in such technology.
"It’s easily the most flexible, user-friendly and clear system we have ever offered and the price makes it one of the most competitive factory-fit devices around," he said.
Satellite navigation technology transmits signals from space satellites to receivers on Earth, which are then picked up by sat nav devices in order to determine precise locations.
