Saab has announced that its 9-3 range will be given a "bold, more assertive" appearance that has been inspired by the Aero X concept.
The distinctive new styling will reinforce the 9-3 range’s "sporty appeal", according to Saab.
A new line of engines will also be introduced, including a 1.9-litre, 16-valve diesel unit delivering 180bhp and fuel consumption of 47.9mpg.
Extra potential is available with a 2.8-litre V6 turbo petrol engine, offering 280bhp, as well as a greener option in the shape of a Saab BioPower unit delivering up to 200bhp.
Another addition to the line-up is a "state-of-the-art" cross-wheel drive system.
This setup will be exclusive to the 9-3 Aero sport saloon and SportWagon models and will be capable of sending up to 100 per cent of engine torque to the front or rear wheels whenever necessary, optimising handling and stability.
The cross-wheel drive system will be available to order a few months after the launch of the new 9-3 range in September.
