A new limited-edition version of the Clio Renaultsport 197 is available for UK orders now and will reportedly offer "an even more exhilarating driving experience" than its predecessors.
The car is the first model to feature Renault’s ‘Cup’ chassis, the component that is credited with enhancing its performance, which will be optional on the standard model later this year.
According to the automaker, the car’s design has been inspired by the Renault motorsport team’s back-to-back successes at the FIA World Championship, with exclusive F1 decals on the doors and roof.
Other pieces of extra kit include 17-inch anthracite alloy wheels, extra tinted windows, red painted brake callipers and Recaro seats.
Powering the car is a normally-aspirated, two-litre 16V engine with a six-speed manual gearbox, which delivers top power of 197bhp and carries the vehicle from 0-62mph in 6.9 seconds.
There are a range of standard features in the Clio Renaultsport 197, including air conditioning, cruise control, an mp3-compatible CD player and a numbered plate alongside the handbrake denoting the car’s sporting heritage.
Accessories for personalising the model will be made available shortly, including a Clio Cup rear spoiler, side skirts, twin exhaust pipes and a front bumper lower grille.
