British Grand Prix winner Lewis Hamilton will be making an appearance at Brands Hatch in August, it has been revealed.
The young British hopeful who celebrated a win at Silverstone on Sunday has agreed to appear at the Kent racetrack for the German Touring Car (DTM) event, which will be held on August 31.
Hamilton himself competed in DTM events before he made it to Formula 1 racing, and won the F3 Euroseries support race in 2005.
Speaking about his excitement to return to the circuit, Hamilton explained, "I am really looking forward to visiting a DTM race again."
"I have fond memories of the time when I competed in the F3 Euroseries, and really like the atmosphere of the DTM and the great racing which this series is famous for."
It is believed he will be meeting and greeting fans at the event, as a boost to both his own and DTM’s popularity.
Hamilton will be doing a demo drive in his MP4-23 around the circuit, celebrating the third time the DTM has made an appearance at the highly regarded Brands Hatch racecourse.
Commenting on Sunday’s win at Silverstone, Hamilton told the Sun: "It is straight back to work for me I’ve ticked off Monaco, I’ve ticked off winning the British Grand Prix.
"Now I’ve got to tick off winning the World Championship."
