Eligibility details concerning which cars can compete in the Le Mans Legend race have been revealed.
Potential competitors will be anxious to know how old their car has to be before they can enter it in the race, which is run on the Saturday morning (June 13th) of the real Le Mans 24 Hours event on the same 8.5 mile circuit.
Well they need wonder no more as the cars which belong to the 1949 to 1965 era are all allowed, which will mean the race has a field of road-going sports cars adapted for the track.
To give a flavour of just how vintage the cars involved in the even [EVENT] will be, it is worth noting that the 1949 Le Mans 24 Hours featured cars including Aston Martin DB2s, the Embiricos Bentley and the Ferrari 166MM (which eventually triumphed).
Duncan Wiltshire, of event organiser Motor Racing Legends, said: We want to ensure that the battle for overall victory – and in each class – is as closely fought as possible and, to this end, GT40s will not be invited this year, as their success lay after this era."
