After a mix up with London parking permits, TV Presenter Donna Air has been labelled an airhead, and couldn’t be happier.
After just 14 minutes deliberation, a jury decided that she had a property in each location and did not realise permit rules forbidding dual passes.
Prosecuting Kensington and Chelsea Council claimed that Air applied for a £110 parking permit for the borough, while living (and parking) in the neighbouring Westminster, to avoid paying more £5,650 in on-street parking charges. Addressing the court, Air’s silver-tongued barrister Benn Maguire, said of the presenter: ‘There was not a lot going on in her head.’
