A reviewer has claimed that the new Mercedes-Benz ‘Espresso-Class’ has enough great features to "keep you awake at night".
The verdict, delivered by Daily Mail motoring reviewer Ray Massey, will have used Mercedes dealers dreaming of selling the car to excited punters in a few years’ time.
Mr Massey was particularly taken with the sharply-styled headlamps and windscreen-mounted camera to sense traffic on the road ahead.
Apparently, fuel-saving ‘stop-start’ technology will be made available on some models from the end of the year.
Andrew English of the Telegraph thinks that the car has got enough going for it to prove irresistible in the meantime. His review emphasised the cosmetic charm of the new E-Class, in particular its "elegant" roofline and rear.
UK showrooms will start getting the SE, Avantgarde and Sport trim levels of the new car in June, with prices starting from £28,000. According to the Mail, Britain won’t be getting the Elegance version as it is considered to be "too frumpy".
