The Mazda3 MPS, which the automaker describes as a "super-hatch" that will prove to be "sector-busting", is arriving in showrooms in February.
Company car user-choosers are in Mazda’s sights for the sale of this car, the manufacturer stated, although it also said that fleet operators will find the new model is the cheapest five-door super-hatch on the market.
The MPS will also be the best-performing car of its type on sale in the UK, according to Mazda, with a turbocharged 2.3-litre engine that will take it to a top speed of 155mph and from 0-62 mph in 6.1 seconds.
James Hopkins, Mazda fleet and remarketing director, said: "The Mazda3 MPS is an important model as it reinforces our credentials as Britain’s favourite sports car brand as well as providing a ‘halo effect’ for the Mazda3 range and our entire vehicle portfolio.
"With fleet choice lists widening and an increasing number of fleet operators and company car drivers recognising the individuality, affordability, reliability and practicality of Mazda vehicles, the launch of our first super-hatch will further boost our corporate sector sales."
An additional Sports Aero kit is available with the new Mazda, which will include a larger rear spoiler, two-spoke sports mirrors and an Eibach lowering suspension kit.
