Kia is to unveil the pro_cee’d at the Frankfurt International Motor Show in September.
The model is longer, lower and lighter than its five-door sister car and the company has stated that it will bring style and sportiness to the C-segment in Europe.
With improved handling and performance, the firm is hoping that the vehicle will appeal to people on the continent with a fondness for three-door cars.
New to the unit are changes to the side window along with a tailgate spoiler and a boldly displayed tailpipe.
Obtuse 70-degree openings for the doors ensure that it is not a tight squeeze for those who want to get into the rear.
"The new Kia pro_cee’d offers consumers sensationally stylish looks with a truly sporty feel to the driving experience, while also retaining most of the practicality and versatility of the popular cee’d five-door hatchback," said Jean-Charles Lievens, senior vice president at the manufacturer.
Meanwhile, the company has confirmed that the pro_cee’d range will contain up to 19 models.
