The managing director of Jaguar Cars believes that the new Jaguar XF range "redefines Jaguar sporting luxury".
Mike O’Driscoll said: "Our designers and engineers have worked together to develop elegant, inspired solutions to complex technical challenges. It’s a simple but very effective philosophy and the result is great new products like the new 3.0-litre diesel XF."
The new Jaguar XF models will be available from March 2009 and prices will start at £32,900 for the 3.0-litre petrol. The 3.0-litre diesel model will be on offer from £33,900 and the new 3.0-litre Diesel S will have a price tag as low as £36,900.
The Diesel S is capable of accelerating from 0-60mph in just 5.9 seconds, which is 1.8 seconds quicker than the 2.7-litre model and is likely to prove a popular acquisition for used-Jaguar buyers.
Once underway, acceleration is equally impressive, with a 50-70mph time of just 3.2 seconds.
But despite an impressive top speed of 155mph the car’s designers are proud of just how quiet the product is, having worked hard to reduce combustion noise in the engine.
