Jag wins mag award

It might not be going on sale in the UK until next year, but the Jaguar C-XF concept car was a winner at the 2007 Fleet World Honours today.

The four-door sports saloon picked up the Editor’s Special Award at the ceremony and was described by the magazine’s editor, Ken Rogers, as a "truly dramatic" car which would "become a future automotive design classic".

Awards at the Fleet World Honours event reflect cars which attain the highest levels of excellence in any given category, and the Jaguar C-XF’s stunning look was clearly a hit.

Some dealers in the UK are already showcasing the concept car to give motorists the chance to get a feel for the vehicle which is being released next year.

Mr Rogers commented: "Whilst drawing on design cues from Jaguar’s illustrious heritage, it gives a clear indication of the future directions of this charismatic, British marque.

"The motor industry does not lack imaginative design studies, but few have made as much of an impression on me in recent times."
