A new survey from price comparison site moneysupermarket.com has revealed that the Welsh are the most likely to fail the driving test three times in a row.
The research also discovered that if you come from Wales or London you are least likely to pass your driving test first time – only 41 per cent of people from these areas do so, compared to 51 per cent living in the north-east and Yorkshire.
Men seem to be more successful at passing at the first attempt than women (52 per cent compared to 42 per cent).
Peter Gerrard, head of insurance research at moneysupermarket.com said: "Younger drivers eager to get behind the wheel this summer may be shocked by how expensive their insurance premiums are.
"I advise taking a Pass Plus course, adding an older driver to your policy and consider buying an older car which may be easier to insure. Considering a higher excess on your policy will also keep your premium down."
