The readers of BusinessCar magazine have voted the Ford S-Max their car of the year.
An exclusive ceremony for the top executives in the fleet industry – the people responsible for running the cars that support British business – was held for the BusinessCar awards.
The accolades are reportedly the only ones in the market that are decided solely on votes from the magazine’s readership.
Tristan Young, editor in chief of BusinessCar, described the awards as "a barometer for the company car market".
On Ford’s success, Mr Young commented: "The S-Max’s win demonstrates not only the continuing shift away from the default Mondeo company car choice, but also Ford’s timely response to the demands of business customers."
Audi was also among the winners at the ceremony, taking the manufacturer of the year honour and user-chooser car of the year award for the TT.
Drive & Survive, a driving training and safety scheme, was named service supplier of the year and BP was given an innovation of the year accolade for its Target Neutral scheme, which is designed to offset carbon emissions.
