The president and chief executive of Ford Europe has described the group’s S-Max’s garnering of a new award as "fantastic news".
Having already picked up an estimated 15 national magazine awards, the S-Max has now wowed the adjudicators for the German car magazine Auto Bild, alongside its 23 sister publications.
This responsive handling and comfortable vehicle, whose price ranges between £16,995 and £21,995 on-the-road, was also able to pick up a gong in the crossover minivan category at the Auto 1 awards.
The S-Max was put through the paces by a series of vehicle experts from the Bridgestone tyre manufacturers in Aprilla, Italy.
Mr Fleming said that the picking up of its latest award showed that the S-Max has "touched a nerve with the public and the specialist media".
He added: "For us, this is further proof that our renewed emphasis on dynamic new products that connect emotionally with customers is making a positive contribution to Ford of Europe’s business success."
