Ford has marked 30 years of sales success in its small hatchback segment by launching a special edition of its Fiesta Zetec S.
The high-specification version of the car will feature a chequered flag design on the roof and be limited to the sale of 400 vehicles.
At its price of Â£12,595 on the road, the anniversary edition car will add a range of extra equipment to the existing Zetec S model which will amount to an additional Â£1,400 in value.
Among the model’s extra features is an mp3 connection socket, silver dashboard bezel, full leather seats, privacy glass, velour mats and chequered scuff plates.
On the exterior, the car will boast unique radian yellow paintwork, panther black door mirrors, side mouldings, a tailgate handle and spoiler.
A 1.6-litre, 16-valve, petrol engine will power the limited edition vehicle.
Ford describes the Fiesta as a “current star” in a range that has been at the forefront of the UK car market for 30 years.
The automaker claims that the model was “the first choice among private buyers” in 2006, with sales increasing 24 per cent from 83,803 to 103,856.
