The Ford Fiesta has added another accolade to its copybook after being crowned as the Best New Car at the recent Fleet World awards.
The prizes are presented annually to the vehicle that achieves the highest possible level of excellence in their sector, with the Fiesta ECOnetic a car that particularly impressed.
This is due to the low levels of carbon dioxide it generates of 98g/km, which is the smallest of all the cars available to motorists in the family car sector.
George Emmerson, the chairman of the judging panel, said: "The new Ford Fiesta is a worthy winner in a fiercely competitive sector.
"Many fleet managers are actively downsizing vehicles in their choice lists and employees are looking for quality, attractive looks and competitive whole-life costs and the new Fiesta easily meets all these criteria."
The Fiesta ECOnetic has reduced its carbon dioxide emission figures through "smart ideas and clever refinements", according to Ford, rather than having to rely on different fuels or being run via a battery.
