Citroen has released more details about its spectacular Hypnos concept car – a vehicle that promises to be in tune with its driver’s emotions.
A ceiling-mounted camera films the drivers face and acts on the date collected to gauge emotions and adjusts the cabin lighting and fragrance accordingly.
A specially-designed clock shows similar levels of sensitivity. The innovative timepiece has no needles or digital display, changes colour depending on the light at different times of the day and emits a succession of rhythmic colour pulses "like a breathing organism".
Four uniquely-sculpted seats are made up of prism-shaped components and can be inflated and deflated to give occupants upper and lower back massages whenever the need arises.
On a more practical note, the Hypnos is capable of a 0-60mph time of around nine seconds and silent, exhaust-free driving in Zero Emission Vehicle mode.
The car will make its debut at this month’s Paris Motor Show and is sure to have no shortage of admirers.
