New SUV is “distinctly Citroen”

1

The first-ever sports utility vehicle (SUV) manufactured by Citroen is now available across the UK and has been described by the company as "distinctly" representative of its style, design and detail.

The C-Crosser is a four-wheel drive vehicle with a fuel-efficient diesel engine, enabling a top speed of 124 mph.

Both the VTR+ and Exclusive models are designed for both functionality and style, Citroen has maintained, while also including features such as cruise control, air-conditioning and six airbags.

"The arrival of the C-Crosser represents the beginning of a new chapter in Citroen’s often overlooked history of producing vehicles with off-road capability," the company said in a statement. "[It] presents a non-aggressive design for the SUV market."

Prices for the C-Crosser begin at £22,790 for the VTR+, going up to £25,490 for the Exclusive, in which extra features such as leather upholstery and rear parking sensors can be found.

Other SUVs on the current market include the BMW X5 and the Range Rover Sport.

  1. I have been waiting for this car to be released. It looks to me from what I have read on the Citroen C-Crosser web page, that this is going to be FAR more economical than a lot of other 4×4/SUV vehicles on the road today. That’s got to be a good thing!

The Citroen C-Crosser looks sharp. The back reminds me a bit of the Porsche, whereas the large Chevron on the front fits in with the current range of Citroen’s on the market. Definitely a vast improvement over the cars Citroen made in the 80s/90s. I haven’t had a chance to drive one of these yet, but it’ll be very interesting to see how the ride compares to the Range Rover or the BMW X3/X5.
