“Eye-catching” new Chrysler headed for UK shores

The new Chrysler Sebring will be available in the UK from June and will offer "surprisingly good value for money as well as striking looks", according to the manufacturer.

A choice of two- and 2.4-litre petrol and two-litre turbodiesel engines will power the vehicle, which is an evolution of the 2003 Airflite concept car.

The front-wheel drive Sebring will deliver between 154 and 167bhp, while also offering a competitive fuel economy rates ranging from 36.2 to 45.6mpg.

Peter Lambert, managing director of Chrysler UK, said: "The Sebring is Chrysler’s first offering in the mid-size family car segment, currently dominated by cars like the Ford Mondeo and Honda Accord.

"The Sebring combines an eye-catching design with high levels of safety and reliability, great performance and excellent fuel efficiency and is priced around ten per cent less than the competition."

Mr Lambert also outlined the range of equipment which comes with the car, including a "cutting-edge" information and navigation system with a 20-gigabyte hard drive, air conditioning, heated leather-trimmed seats and side-curtain airbags.

Standard features such as these ensure that the Sebring "will appeal to the pocket as well as the eye", the Chrysler director said.
