Chevrolet believes that its new Captiva Ikon model is "ideal for those who have outgrown the family hatchback".
The car is on sale for £15,995, with over £3,000 worth of extras available. The Captiva SUV went on sale in 2007 and has become a popular choice of used Chevrolet model with its maker hoping that the new model will prove as successful.
As it comes with air conditioning, electric windows and remote locking, there is a good chance that it will. It also has electrically-adjustable mirrors, a glass-flip tailgate and quality CD/stereo with steering wheel-mounted controls.
There is also £3,000 worth of styling touches available. These include 20-inch alloy wheels, side steps, privacy glass and a chrome exhaust tailpipe.
Chevrolet believes that the car will also be an attractive purchase for owners of a larger SUV who are looking to reduce their running costs without sacrificing style.
It is worth noting that at £15,995 on-the-road, the 2.4 model is almost £1,000 cheaper than the petrol LS.
