Bosch has announced that good news could be on the horizon for Alfa Romeo lovers as the manufacturer is to use "high quality" spark plugs.
The electrical firm’s platinum plugs will be employed, offering high performance and an excellent service life thanks to a central electrode welded by lasers, it claimed.
Alfa Romeo, which already uses ignition and injection systems from the firm, will employ the spark plugs in Brera, Spider and 159 models.
Bosch commented: "The laser welding and materials used ensure that the spark plugs, which are subject to a high level of stress, have an exceptional service life of more than 60,000 miles."
Alfa Romeo will not be the only firm to take advantage of this, as BMW, Audi, Volvo, Volkswagen, GM and Toyota also use the technology.
Recently, the 24-our use of an Alfa Romeo Spider was auctioned at a charity event in Chipping Camden, the Cotswold Journal reports.
