Like the excellent AYGO, the iQ is part of a renewed Toyota range aiming to capitalise on the growing need for ever smaller and efficient city cars. Also like the AYGO, the iQ is remarkably competent, fun to drive and cute to look at. It's not a big car, nor is it very practical (there is no boot, nor cubbyhole), but for a car which is under three metres long, there is a surprising amount of room - enough for four adults. The standard 1.0 litre engine (the only other option is 1.33 litre), offers a decent amount of power, even if it leaves the ride feeling a little unrefined as speed.
