Rover 75

Expert Opinion

Although Rover may no longer exist, the Rover 75 is a still a quality used option, presenting good value for money, reliability and comfort; even if it now wears something of a dated style. As the best saloon in the Rover range - when they were still in operation - the 75 is a comfortable but not always bewilderingly powerful car. The 1.8 petrol is the smallest engine of the lot, and while not as powerful or sporty as its bigger siblings, it is consistently refined and smooth. The diesels are generally the better option however, offering good economy (although bettered by more modern rivals), decent performance and dependable reliability. 75s are well known for this last point, so cars with mileages over 100k shouldn't be regarded with too much trepidation; the 75 is a car which will run and run long after their manufacturer stopped.
