When the first i30 first arrived onto the market it signalled Hyundai's intent to compete for a serious share of the European hatchback market. Surprising everyone, that first i30 did exactly what it set out to do, and now into its second generation, it remains a car with a refined quality, good efficiency and an exciting drive which more than manages to achieve what its European rivals does (such as the Golf or Focus), but does so carrying a substantially smaller price tag.
