porsche 911 depreciation

Am thinking of buying a Porsche 911 Carrera S (997 gen 2 version) on a 61 plate. I know historically 911s have held their value well when new model variants have been launched but how well can I expect the porker to hold its value.

I am looking to pay about £37k for a well specced version. I know this is the best built 997 and they knocked out about 20 versions, but I don't want to be standing less than £25k after 3 years when I would go again.

I don't expect you'll find a high spec low mileage one for 37k but you're doing really well for that price. I reckon 42k is more accurate unless you want a non PDK version in which case it's closer to 40k. If you want to hold value well then you'll need PDK, those versions hold much better. The car will have lost most of it's val already so as long as you are keeping low miles on it it'll still be worth well over 30k in 3 years.
