Motorists looking for a cheap car to transport their family around in could do far worse than opt for a Vauxhall Vectra, it has been stated.

Which? magazine has indicated that the Vectra has seen the price of used vehicles suffer in the last year as motorists shift their focus away from mainstream larger cars.

The introduction of the replacement to the Vectra – the Insignia – has also not helped its cause, meaning that the price of the Vectra has been almost cut in half.

This will allow motorists to pick up a decent vehicle for their money, according to Which?, as the Vectra is "not a bad car".

Instead it is stated that it is "unfashionable", although if motorists can put up with this they will own a vehicle that is "comfortable", "quiet and easy to drive".

Furthermore, they will benefit from a host of generous specifications, including an auto-dimming rear view mirror, cruise control and a sat nav.

Buyers of the 1.8-litre petrol offering can accelerate from still to 60 miles per hour in 10.9 seconds, while the vehicle has a top speed of 127 miles per hour.
