A naturally-aspirated 3.6 litre V6 engine developing 300 PS and 258lbs/ft of torque has been fitted to both saloon and estate versions of the Volkswagen Passat R36.
Benefiting from the 4MOTION all-wheel drive system, capable of diverting
torque to either axle, the Passat R36 has a six-speed gearbox.
Pedestrians can recognise the car by its distinctive front grille, as well as the bi-xenon headlights. Since most people will only see the rear of the vehicle, after the fastest accelerating Volkswagen will have already overtaken, they can admire the set of twin tailpipes affixed to
either side of the bumper.
It is launched with 18 inch wheels in a choice of four colours – silver,
black, blue and grey – with new models planned after launch.
