VW unveils Golf estate

Set to hit the UK market in time for it is hoped will be a scorching summer, the new VW Golf Estate looks a hot prospect.

Mooted to cost approximately £15,000 for the standard model, the new estate possesses a number of stylish features, including an R-32-style grille and deep-air intakes.

However, one of the most significant changes to the new model is the VW Golf Estate’s rear.

Possessing a large tailgate and an extended roofline means that the new VW stands out from its five-door hatchback predecessors.

New customers will also be able to choose from a range of engines, including a 138bhp 1.4-litre TSI turbocharged or supercharged format, alongside a conventional engine.

Other features which will be fitted as standard to this attractive model include six airbags, alloy wheels and semi-automatic climate control.
