You wouldn’t usually associate Poland with sophisticated supercars. But Arrinera Automotive, a Warsaw-based company, with the help of Lee Noble, may be just about to change that. Lee noble is a genuine supercar authority, with 30 years of expertise designing and building brutally fast supercars. He is responsible for technical aspects related to the model dubbed De Veno Arrinera as well as for the design and production of its rolling chassis.
The car’s design is highly influenced by Lamborghini Reventon and Aventador models. Its styling displays sharp and dynamic lines with upwards-opening doors. The front of the car is close to the ground which vastly improves its aerodynamic properties. Two air intakes allow cooling air to be directed onto the hot brakes. The cab-forward design is the result of the central positioning of the engine. The back of the car, the large diffuser and centrally mounted exhausts are designed to resemble the exhaust nozzles of a jet airplane. It is based on a tubular steel chassis and a body made of carbon fiber and Kevlar composite. Thanks to this, it only weighs 1,300 kg. This allows it to accelerate rom standstill to 100km/h in 3.2 seconds. The 200km/h barrier is be passed in 8.9 seconds and the top speed is 340km/h. The power comes from a mid-mounted 6.2-liter supercharged LS9 V8 straight out of a Chevrolet ZR1. It is pushing out 638 hp and 604 ft/lb of torque. To support the power, large diameter light alloy wheels, and ceramic brakes are fitted with ultra-low profile tires for ultimate grip and control; 255/30 R19 at the front and 335/30 R20 at the rear.
With this low weight and specifications, one would assume it has good chances to be on level with the Italian supercars. Nonetheless, if it wants to succeed on aesthetic grounds it would have to alter its design to separate itself a bit more from its Lamborghini inspiration.
The car has recently been released during a local presentation and is ready for debut in late 2012.
All we can do now is to wait and see how well this “Polish” model does in the expensive high end cars’ market.
