With many motorists in the UK often choosing to own a convertible over a hard-top car, the Vauxhall Astra TwinTop is among the prettiest on the market, according to one writer.

Jason Dawe states in a review of the vehicle for the Times that the fact that the Astra has a three-part folding metal roof instead of the more common two-piece is a reason for this.

Meanwhile, motorists can either drop their top or keep the rain out at the push of a button, while with the roof down some 440 litres of luggage space is available to be filled.

A choice of three petrol engines or a diesel offering may also appeal to prospective buyers, with Mr Dawe recommending that the 1.8-litre petrol is possibly the best buy.

This is because the 1.6-litre petrol struggles with its "kerb weight", while the 2.0-litre offering is too quick for a vehicle meant for a "sunny Sunday jaunt".

Overall, Mr Dawe highlights that the Astra TwinTop is "balanced and good to drive", while being an inexpensive introduction into the world of convertible motoring.

Motorists interested in the vehicle will also have the choice of ten colours including Iceberg, Royal Blue and Power Red.
