Toyota is promoting the launch of its new Auris, to take place on February 1st, describing the car as "an all-new name for an all-new Toyota".
The Auris is a family car, which Toyota says has been designed, developed and engineered for the European market. Models that sell the most will be manufactured in Europe also, with the most popular vehicles coming from the Burnaston factory in Derby.
"Distinctively styled and delivering first class safety and driving performance, Auris is set to transform Toyota’s profile in one of the most significant and competitive market sectors," the automaker said in a statement.
The model, which has been built using a new platform, is available in three and five-door styles with a choice of two petrol and three diesel engines.
A trio of transmissions will also be incorporated into the range, which consists of four model grades – the T2, T3, T-Spirit and the flagship T180.
An ‘extra-value’ TR model will also be available, priced at £1,000 less than the T3 equivalent and featuring scuff plates and extra chrome detailing on the car’s rear.
The initial launch of the Auris will take place on February 1st, with certain models arriving on April 1st. Toyota aims to sell around 22,000 models in the UK.
