Car manufacturer Subaru has finally unveiled detailed images of its latest Impreza – the WRX STI.
On sale in the UK from March 2008, the car can be picked up with 1.5, 2.0 and a turbo-charged WRX 2.5-litre engine.
Although technical specifications are still thin on the ground at the moment, the model will debut at this year’s Tokyo Motor Show, where visitors can get a closer look.
Only sketchy details were revealed as part of a statement from the automaker.
"Developed by a dedicated team of performance-loving engineers, the new WRX STI features big blistered wheelarches for a ground-hugging stance," commented the company.
Subaru is a division of Fuji Heavy Industries founded in 1953, with the firm’s first car rolled out of production a year later.
The automaker employs 11,998 people and is know for its use of boxer engines – an internal combustion engine with virtually horizontal pistons.
