Extra sensorily perceptive ESP Renault provision

Posted in Clio news on March 11th, 2008

Renault’s electronic stability program (ESP), which controls the vehicle steering and trajectory if one tyre loses grip, is being rolled out across even the ‘entry-level’ Twingo models, and can be ordered from the end of this month.

The Twingo is also fitted with other recent technological safety measures, such as adjustments to the chassis, ABS and emergency brake assist.

Using the ESP processor device, there are seven sensors fitted to the Twingo which detect tyre skidding, or sliding, especially during cornering, and will control engine torque to keep the steering line.

ESP is an option for the Kangoo, Modus and Clio Estate too.
