Porsche is offering the drivers the chance to get fit and improve their motoring ability by opening up the doors to its Human Performance Centre.

The facility is staffed by three motoring fitness experts.

One of them is Andy Blow, who has worked in the motor industry all his life, having graduated from the University of Bath with a science and exercise degree.

A former Great Britain triathlon athlete, he has trained the likes of Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button during periods of employment with Renault and Benetton.

A visit to the centre, which is based at Silverstone race track, will offer drivers a chance to participate in "a wide variety of programmes tailored to individual ambitions".

Exercise and nutritional plans can be drawn up by the staff and advice given relating to such issues as posture in the driver’s seat and eyesight strength.

There’s also a specialist heat chamber for training drivers preparing to race in hot climates.
