New Peugeot 308 ‘passes fuel economy test’

Posted in Peugeot news on February 15th, 2008

The new Peugeot 308 can complete a lap of the M25 motorway on less than £10 of fuel, the motor manufacturer has announced.

Peugeot’s M25 test was designed to demonstrate the competitive fuel efficiency of its latest offering.

It comes at a time when motorists are struggling with record fuel prices.

"The M25 exercise was a simple demonstration, but our results have a serious economic message to motorists," said Steve Lambert, product manager for Peugeot UK

"It shows you can still buy and run a family size car like the Peugeot 308 on a cost-effective budget, and be environmentally sensitive without having to compromise."

The 308 completed its 117-mile journey round Britain’s most famous motorway with two passengers and the starting weight of a full tank of diesel.

It averaged around 50mph during the journey and used just £9.95 of fuel.
