Peugeot is celebrating the award of the golden steering wheel to
the new 308 model. In fact, Peugeot seem to be regular contenders
for the prize, which is voted on by a panel consisting of racing drivers, automotive professionals and media personalities who judge a range of vehicles to determine which one best meets a number of key criteria.

The 308 was chosen as the best compact family car and came first in nine
of the 15 judgement criteria.

In the past Peugeot has also won the golden steering wheel for the
Peugeot 505, back in 1979, the Peugeot 205, in 1983, the Peugeot 405 in
1987, the Peugeot 306 in 1993 and the Peugeot 206 in 1998.

The new 308 has eight models in the range, all of which have been fitted
with Peugeot’s new six-speed gearbox technology.

This ensures that emissions are cut to below 120g/km in seven of the
vehicles.
