The new Mazda2 range will go on sale in the UK this September and the manufacturer claims that the three-strong line-up will come with "exceptionally generous levels of standard equipment".

First in the range is the Mazda2 TS, which will be powered by a 1.3-litre engine and feature 15-inch steel wheels, ABS with brake assist, driver and front passenger airbags and remote central locking.

A CD radio with two speakers will be incorporated into the car, along with electric front windows and a Thatcham category one alarm and immobiliser.

The Mazda2 TS2 will also feature a 1.3-litre petrol engine, with 15-inch alloy wheels, side and curtain airbags, four audio speakers, steering wheel-mounted audio controls and air conditioning.

Topping the range is the Mazda2 Sport, which features a 1.5-litre powerplant and a full sports styling kit.

This model will run on 16-inch alloy wheels and utilise dynamic stability control alongside a trip computer, climate control air conditioning, rain-sensing wipers and auto-lights.

Mazda’s petrol range will be joined by a 1.4-litre diesel model a few months after the initial September launch.
