The new Batman film could lead to increased interest in new and used Lamborghini models as the caped crusader’s alter-ego drives one.
Onscreen billionaire Bruce Wayne, played by Christian Bale, drives a Murcielago LP640 in this year’s Batman epic The Dark Knight.
According to Lamborghini, the Murcielago LP640 Coupe appearing in The Dark Knight is powered by a 640 horsepower, 6.5 litre V12 engine capable of more than 211 mph.
Speaking about Bruce Wayne’s taste for Lamborghinis, Stephan Winkelmann, president and chief executive of Automobili Lamborghini, said: "The Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 is the natural choice for Bruce Wayne’s other car.
"Lamborghini is proud to be associated with one of the greatest movie franchises in history, especially co-starring with the Batmobile."
The Murcielago boasts not only a staggering top speed of 211mph but can also pass the 60mph barrier in under 3.4 seconds.
UK motorists considering following in the caped crusader’s footsteps and opting for a new or used Lamborghini now have a choice of five dealerships.
The manufacturer has chosen Reading for its fifth site, following other dealerships located in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh.
