‘Superb selection’ of vintage vehicles comes to Blackbushe

The British Car Association (BCA) is to bring a wide range of interesting vehicles to the Vintage & Collectors’ sale, taking place at BlackBushe auction centre at the end of the month.

Of the models it will display, the most recent is the 1985 Mercedes-Benz SEC, which was owned by television favourite Bob Monkhouse.

According to the organisation, this famous car will set enthusiasts back a cool £5,000.

The claims to fame do not end there as the 1934 Packard Eight Sudan at the show was once supplied to US politician and three-term New York mayor Fiorello H LaGuardia.

In addition, the BCA will be showing off the 1924 Talbot 10/23 and a three-and-a-half-litre Bentley from 1935.

Bob Monkhouse recently made a television comeback, appearing through the magic of video technology on an educational advert about the risks of prostate cancer despite his death.

Some slight mis-information in this piece. BCA stands for British Car Auctions, not British Car Association. The most recent cars in the sale actually dated from the 1990s and it was a Packard Eight Sedan (not Sudan).
