Citroen enticing buyers towards green cars

Citroen has encouraged its new car buyers to opt for low-CO2 models by offering to pay the road fund licence on all sales of these cars in July.

This is in addition to minimum £500 part exchange cashback offers on many models when customers trade in older, more polluting vehicles.

Citroen claims that it produces many of the most fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles available and last year sold almost 15 per cent of all cars in the UK with emissions rates of 120g/km or less.

The manufacturer currently has 22 models that fall into this category, including superminis such as the C1, C2 and C3 and some versions of the family-size C4.

A number of offers will be available to Citroen customers this summer, including cashback deals on the 110hp, 1.6-litre Desire in the Xsara Picasso range and a four-year zero per cent finance deal on the C4 Picasso SX.

One year’s free insurance is also on offer for the automaker’s sports-styled C2 range, including the 1.4-litre Furio, which has an economy rate of 65.7mpg and emissions of 113g/km.
