Citroen unveils new five-seat Picasso

Citroen has announced details of its new five-seat C4 Picasso, claiming that the car’s launch will make the manufacturer the only company to offer a choice of three compact MPVs.

The new vehicle will be available alongside the Xsara Picasso and the award-winning seven-seat model, which will be renamed the Grand C4 Picasso.

Progressive thinking has been employed in the development and design of the five-seat MPV, according to Citroen, leading to good visibility, a "light and airy" interior, a spacious cabin and boot and a new version of its Modubox folding trolley.

"Citroen’s newest model sports a fresh, dynamic look, with a body style that is at once compact, flowing and eye-catching," the company said in a statement.

"The assertive-looking front end features a new-style bumper with oversized air intakes covered in black mesh, while the unique wave of the waistline, highlighted in chrome, creates an attractive side profile."

The five-seat C4 Picasso, which will be internationally launched in the first quarter of 2007, will offer four fuel-efficient engines ranging from 1.6 to two litres in size.
