14/09/2007 Porsche ready to rock motor show with Porsche Cayenne GTS

German automobile manufacturer Porsche will be unveiling its new Cayenne GTS at the Frankfurt International Motor Show this week.

The model is the first in the line to offer active suspension management using steel springs along with an advanced 4.8-litre V8 petrol engine.

Drivers picking up the vehicle will benefit from a six-speed manual gearbox and an axle final drive which allows it to reach 62 mph from standstill in 6.1 seconds.

Aesthetically, the manufacturer has stated that the model stands out from the crowd.

"The new Cayenne GTS is instantly recognizable: the front and rear share styling cues with the Cayenne Turbo, and the striking 14 mm wheel-arch extensions offer plenty of space for the 21-inch alloy rims," the company commented.

Although there are differences as to how people pronounce the name of the brand, the correct way to say it is "porsh-uh".

19/06/2007 Cayenne’s full potential on show at Goodwood

The full off-road capability of the Porsche Cayenne will be on display, and available for visitors to experience, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year.

A special track has been designed next to the famous circuit and motoring fans can be driven round it by a consultant from the Porsche Driving Experience if they make a donation to the Teenage Cancer Trust.

The second-generation of the Cayenne offers a combination of off-road agility and sports-car handling, Porsche claims, with a driver-oriented chassis and a 385bhp, V8 engine.

Also in action at Goodwood will be the two highest performing models in the 911 range – the 415bhp 911 GT3 and the 480bhp 911 Turbo.

These cars will participate in the Sunday Times supercar run up Goodwood’s hillclimb course in what is described as a "high-octane display of horsepower that celebrates the ultimate in performance road car engineering".

Porsche’s 2007 RS Spyder will also be making its European public debut at the event.

It is not only automakers who will be in the limelight, however, as private owners are invited to display cars of historical significance, with the major focuses of this year’s festival being sports-car and endurance racing.
